Average example of a roleplay post

Roleplayers are people on Miiverse who roleplay. Most of them can be found on the YouTube and Pokémon Communities. Trolls often enter roleplays to mess with other users, which is done similarly to the trolling method they use for people looking for relationships. Nowadays, roleplay trolling is often met with mixed reception. Should a user comment on a roleplay post without intending to join, they will be met with sudden and frequent notifications.

Types of Roleplaying

  • Script Roleplays are the most common type of roleplays, and where poor grammar and chat-speak can often be found. These roleplays involve writing your posts as if it were part of a script, hence the name. (e.g., "John: *walks to girl* What's up, wanna eat my ass?") Script posts are presumably preferred over literate posts because they're easy to type and require little thought.
  • Literate Roleplays are another type, usually consisting of better grammar than script roleplays and making less use of chat-speak. These involve writing your posts as if you were writing paragraphs to a story. The character limit on posting can be a problem when it comes to literate roleplays if the paragraph is long or the roleplay post contains more than one paragraph. Thus, posts in literate roleplays may be no more than a few sentences. These roleplays are rather uncommon on Miiverse. Most literate roleplays has someone roleplaying as Nazeem from Skyrim.
  • Image/drawing Roleplays are the last type, quite predictably involving posting through drawings. These roleplays are where people draw their characters doing and responding to actions. In image roleplays, bad artists can be found as well as illustrations of common types of original characters e.g., kemonomimi (Kemonomimi are human characters with animal features, such as tails and ears.), actual furries, and animatronics exclusive to the Five Nights at Freddy's fandom.

Roleplays After the Redesign

Roleplays were once flooding the YouTube Community, with so many RP's you could lose count. However, the popularity of RP's quickly died after the Redesign, which limited the amount of posts a person could make to 30. This made it near impossible to have an long RP without waiting a day to continue the adventure. Some people haven't given up hope, though, as you can still find an RP if you look hard enough.
